Since my move to the IE, I’ve always wanted to head to an art store to frame some movie prints. It felt like a great task, due to the fact that we are so used to the services that are provided on the Westside; And with so many art stores to choose from. That was my impression until I discovered ‘Bud’s’ shop in the heart of San Bernardino.
Upon walking in I was greeted by old nostalgic items and art supplies. A man welcomed me to look around and little did I know I would be talking to none other than Bud himself. He spoke to me about the origin of the business, it’s ties to the community, and others who have helped him also his business grow. To to time constraints and scheduling I was not able to get a detailed account of the meet.
Bud is an avid electro mechanic pinball collector mainly in the late 50’s – 1960’s machines like the one pictured below.

Definition of electro-mechanic:
Strictly speaking, a manually operated switch is an electromechanical component, but the term is usually understood to refer to devices which involve an electrical signal to create mechanical movement, or mechanical movement to create an electric signal.
Photo Finish:
It became very clear that Bud and I reached an accord in bridging the generational gaps that lie, and enjoying the in – between’s in scrupulous fashion. I returned a week later to pick up my framed posters.
