Madmanleek is a sharp versed rapper and profound lyricist. His work contains a cavalcade of sprawling visions, introspective tales of hardships and struggles, but most importantly; Motivation Music. His sounds are grandiose, as Leek likes to call them “Knockers.” Another term would be ‘banging’ beats. MHC sits down with Madmanleek. Unlike MHC’s: ConverseSeries, this differs in the sense that this was more of a unplanned discussion on his music, relfections, and feelings toward his craft. Madmanleek also works in collaboration with Harris Rudman and is featured on many of his tracks, vice versa.

It started with a question!

Q – Why is Madmanleek and Sacramento such a natural fit?

Leek – Well, it’s really that. Me coming from SAC, with so many people from SAC in the scene hating on SAC kind of forces my hand. Also, people from Sacramento that are not in the scene have started to hate on the rap explosion that has taken place here. My music seeks to destroy that, because the attention span required for my music is so high, i find people second guessing my lyrics. Its kind of like my lyrics, versus what they think my lyrics actually said, a lot of people get lost in the music. I try not to worry too much, as my lyrics are on point. I don’t fall for that trap like: what is Frankie J feeling right now or what can i do to compare, I just Compete…

MHC: I feel that..Leek, as for me I dont just listen to it. I try to paint the picture you are presenting…

Leek: Right! You need to listen to it. I am not the type to just pump a ‘club banger’. When I’m always saying something meaningful. I make make music with a purpose, even if it is a club banger.
